C-section to Cute Cuddles

Hello there, fellow moms, dads, and everyone in between!

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Ntombi, a boy mom who has been blessed to raise two Kings who are over a decade apart in age. Yeah, I am raising a teenager and an infant...wish me luck; join me as I navigate it all in my tell-all blog, My Mommy Milestones. 

So let's rewind to July 2023, when my life took an unexpected turn, what I thought was a stomach bug turned out to be a fetus growing inside me! LIKE WTF? The shock! The ball of emotions! Aren't I too old I utter to myself! Fast forward to what I call Chapter 1 - C-section to Cute Cuddles.

So picture this: It's a typical Friday evening with my mom and teenage sidekick son in my apartment just lazing about after a day spent stationary and uniform shopping. My Friday was one of my feet up, Netflix, a large glass of Coke and what has become a staple  – RocoMamas burger and fries…. I have now become accustomed to the reality of what my Fridays have become…No wine in sight… because a growing baby belly and booze don't mix!

Between my chats with my teenage son and trips to the bathroom, my water breaks – two months earlier than expected! 

Cue the panic mode! No baby bag, No hospital bag. Nothing!

Thank GOD for mothers! My mom in the other room hears my panicked phone conversation with my Dr and heads to superhero/mom mode… from then on, it’s a blur. My mom took charge while I tried to make sense of what was happening.

After a whirlwind trip to the hospital and some serious superhero vibes from my mom and doctors during my emergency C-section, I found myself in recovery mode (a story for another day) making trips to the hospital to visit the new member of my family. Mr Taa Daa, I called him, my infant king was nameless for a week.

Fast forward three months, the infant king is home, and the teenage king is back at school. I am now learning to become a pro at juggling baby burps, nappy blowouts, breastfeeding 101 and sleepless nights.

Now, let's talk about why the ‘My Mommy Milestones’ blog? Well, I’m on a quest to conquer the postpartum weight, master the art of breastfeeding, and achieve all-around wellness for me and my young kings.

Furthermore, this feels brand new to me. From just raising a teenager to now a newborn attached to my boob like a tiny vacuum, deciphering my baby's cries. This journey is one for the blogs, ‘My Mommy Milestones’ blog.

Amidst the chaos and sleepless nights blur, I can honestly say I have amazing moments of pure joy, my baby's first smiles and warm cuddles that say, 'We gonna be alright'! My Mommy Milestones is where I want to share my journey, the chaotic, messy, and downright hilarious adventure of being a single mom to a tribe of boys.
